1st Prize of the International Johannes Brahms Competition in 2005, Geoffroy Couteau recorded the complete piano solo music of Brahms for the label La Dolce Volta. Its integral is among the best recordings of the year 2016 for Télérama, cadenza, the World, the duty and Classica, which awards him his shock of the year. In France, it has been heard in the auditorium of the Orsay Museum, the amphitheater of the Opera Bastille, the Athenee Theater, the City of Music, the House of Radio, the Grand Theater from Bordeaux, the Salle Gaveau … Geoffroy Couteau is invited in many festivals such as “Piano aux Jacobins”, the Festival de Menton, the Festival de Saintes, the Festival of Radio France and Montpellier, “Lille Piano Festival”, the Festival of Printemps des Arts of Monte-Carlo, “Piano en Valois”, the Chopin Festival of Nohant and Bagatelle, the Epau Festival, “Piano à Lyon”, the Messiaen Festival in the Pays de la Meije, the Eygalières Festival …

He regularly participates in radio programs on France Musique, Radio Classique, France Culture or TV such as France 3, Mezzo, Direct 8, LCI, BFMTV.

A free and adventurous spirit, Geoffroy Couteau recorded the music of Rodolphe Bruneau-Boulmier, a living composer, also on record with the music of Scriabine (1st and 7th sonatas), Chopin (24 preludes opus 28).

He made a brilliant career at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, which he joined unanimously in the class of Michel Béroff. In 2002, he received the Diplôme de Formation Supérieur, the Prix mention très bien, Premier Nom, with the unanimity of the jury and the Special Prize Daniel Magne. He entered the same year in the cycle of perfection piano and studied chamber music with Christian Ivaldi and obtains the award mention very well.
