Considered one of the leading pianists of the new Italian piano school (J.C. Hoffele – Concertclassic), Vittorio Forte began studying in Italy at the age of nine. After a journey “off the beaten track”, he meets Mr. José Lepore, Argentine pedagogue, pupil of Carlo Zecchi, who notices the musical abilities of the young pianist.
He decided to leave the general studies to devote himself entirely to the piano at the age of 17 years.
In a few years, he won several competitions in Italy (Ostuni, Lamezia, Modica).
For 3 years, he deepened his piano experience during many advanced courses with pianists such as Gyorgy Sandor, Mikhail Petukhov, Edith Murano, …
The 1st Prize of the International Competition of Zumaia (Spain) in 1996, allows him to make his debut with orchestra in the Concerto “Young Man” of Mozart.
In 1998, he won the International Competition “Città di Valentino”. Vittorio Forte leaves Italy to settle on the French shores of Lake Geneva. After numerous concerts in Europe, he was awarded a scholarship by the “Violeta Minkova” Foundation during a tour of Bulgaria (Sofia, Pleven) and by the Dante Alighieri Society of Toulon.
At the Conservatoire de Lausanne, he continues his studies with Christian Favre who marks his musical evolution and participates in the Master Classes of Paul Badura-Skoda, Jean-Marc Luisada and François-René Duchable who chooses him to interpret the 5th Concerto called “Emperor” of Beethoven with the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra.
His career developed in Europe, where he performed alone and with orchestra. In 2004, he won the “Camillo Togni” International Competition in the piano and orchestra section, as well as the 4 hands duet with Inès Maleviolles.
Noticed by William Grant Nabore, he is selected among the most talented pianists of today to join the International Piano Academy Lake Como. In this institution, he receives the advice of the greatest masters including Andreas Staire, Menahem Pressler, or Fu Ts’ong.
On the occasion of the Vlado Perlemuter Grand Prix, two prizes have been awarded, including the “Chopin Prize” for the best interpretation of the works of the Polish composer.
In order to discover other piano horizons, Vittorio Forte chose to dedicate his first CD, which appears for the Lyrinx label, to the Italian composer Muzio Clementi. Criticism is unanimous both in France (5 tuning fork, gold opus, 4 **** Classica) in Germany (the disc is selected among the best records of the moment by the German Radio HR2 Kultur) or in Japan . The chairman of the Swedish Clementi Society, Bengt Hultman, regards this recording as a reference record of the Italian composer’s repertoire.
Following the success of this first album, Vittorio Forte continues his concerts in Europe and the USA, including the suggestive “Bargemusic” of New York, as well as for the Yamaha Artists Service, the Festival of Castiglione del Lago and the “Music Stagione” of the Bocconi (Italy), the Kawai concerts series (Germany).
He recorded a new album dedicated to Robert SCHUMANN (Lyrinx 0275).
In France, he is invited to Soloists in Bagatelle, Festivals Pianofolies of Le Touquet, Elne piano fortissimo, Around a piano, New Talents, Clef de soleil, Liszt in Provence among others and regularly performs with the Orchester De Ribaupierre, the Sinfonietta of Geneva or the Symphonic Variations Orchestra in important venues such as the Victoria Hall in Geneva, the Montreux Auditorium Stravinsky or the Theater of Vevey.
The collaboration with the label Lyrinx is concretized by the recording of the disc “Couperin-Chopin: Affinités retrouvées” (published in July 2013), which obtains a Gold Opus as well as 5 Diapasons and is nominated at ICMA 2014 in the category ” instrumental soloist “by a jury of more than fifteen professionals (magazines, radios …) of the European musical world.
He is invited from the show “Classic Club” and “Le Mardi idéal” on France Musique, “As you please!” on Rts-Espace 2, and his recordings are broadcast on numerous radio programs in France (France Music, France Inter, RCF etc.), Switzerland (Espace 2), Italy (Radio 3), Sweden (Radio Sverige) or Germany (Mdr Figaro, Hr2 Kultur), Canada (Radio Canada).
Vittorio Forte‘s new CD “Voyage mélodique” for the Lyrinx label is a tribute to the voice through the transcriptions of Schubert’s lieder and melodies to Gershwin by Liszt and Wild. Already rewarded by 5 Diapasons, by a “Joker” of the Belgian magazine Crescendo, or by Opus d’Or gold magazine, this recording marks by its originality and “ease that the artist has to capture the moment present to create striking climates and atmospheres “(A. Desympelaere).
As part of a new collaboration with the Odradek label, Vittorio Forte will record an album of Fantasies & Rondos by C.P.E. BACH.
